frequently asked questions

We want your shopping experience at Expressions in Silk Bridal & Prom to be fun and exciting as you shop for your gown.  Our team values and appreciates each of you.  Here is some information to help prepare you for your appointment.

        Bridal appointments

1)  Seating in the bridal suite will accommodate up to six people comfortably.
2)  Brides who have made an appointment will have the  bridal suite reserved for their 90 minutes.
3) We read every appointment form and may pull some dresses in advance based on your desired selections. Bring pictures of styles you like as well.
4) You may want to wear a strapless bra or a support bra that will allow the straps to be tucked into the gown.
5) If possible, please wear a clear deodorant.
6) Please leave beverages in your vehicle.
7) Parking is available up front and in the back with a handicap ramp on the side of the building.
8) There can be times where we run a bit behind schedule, we will do our best to keep everyone as timely as possible.
9) While we love children, we do not recommend small children attending your bridal gown appointment and do not have space to accommodate a stroller.

BridesMaid group appointments

Bridesmaid group appointments will follow the same steps as noted above, with the bridal suite reserved for the bride and her bridesmaids. 
1)  Once you have placed your personal items in the bridal suite, you may begin looking through the gowns and selecting styles to try-on. 
2) Our bridesmaids collection comes in 65 colors and sizes 2 to 30.  We have dresses in all size ranges available.
3)  After you have made your selection for each bridesmaid, we will help in sizing and then collect the initial deposit.  Orders are placed as a group for dye lot purposes.
4)  Standard shipping time is 3-4 months, however we do have some collections that ship in 10-15 days.
5) Special orders are placed directly with the selected designer on your behalf.  Once an order is placed, we CAN NOT cancel the order for ​any reason. We are bound by the designer to receive the order that will be made for each bridesmaid.
After order has been placed, what happens next?
1)  
Upon receipt, bridesmaid dresses are checked-in and tagged, the bride and each bridesmaid are notified by text or phone.
2) Schedule your try-on and alterations appointment, pay your balance.

Do you offer Installment Plans?

 We offer installment plans (formerly called layaway) on dresses over $250 for bridal gowns and prom dresses.  Terms are 50% down and regular monthly payments for up to 6 months for brides and 60 days for prom.  All installment plans follow our "all sales final" policy.  Alterations can be scheduled once the gown is paid in full.

What is your sales/return policy?

Our policy is all "sales are final".  No exchange, refund, cancellation or store credit should be expected after the purchase has been made.  We are not responsible for acts of God, pandemics or should a customer gain/loose weight or become pregnant after an order has been placed on their behalf.  Reduced priced items are sold "as is".   

tuxedos Rentals 

Tuxedo rentals arrive the week of your event, once your order has been received and checked-in, we contact the bride and/or groom, then each person directly by email, text and/or phone to notify of its arrival.  Any remaining balance is due upon receipt.  Tuxedos are to be returned on Sunday by 3:30 p.m. following the event to avoid a $50 per day late fee beginning on Tuesday when we re-open and you are responsible for replacement cost of any item not returned.

Are alterations available? 
We have partnered with an independent expert formal wear seamstress for alterations through our store for your convenience.  Alterations are not included in the cost of your dress and would be paid directly to the independent seamstress.  She does remove your gown from our store to work at her workshop on your item after first pinning.  She will work with you on your next fitting dates thereafter.  A verbal quote is provided before she begins any work and if accepted, she moves forward.  Any questions regarding your fitting(s) should be directed to the seamstress.

Expressions in Silk Bridal stylists do not provide quotes on her behalf.
